Introducing the CORE Teams:

The acronym CORE represents the four teams that will be formed: Capital, Outreach, Relationship, and Education. The acronym CORE represents the four teams: Capital, Outreach, Relationship, and Education.

The CORE ministry teams follow our mission and vision and reflect the values that have been specifically identified by the church body. These values include outreach to our community, relationships within our church and community, and Christian education. It is our goal that by forming ministry teams based on these values, the ministries that we choose to do today and moving forward will closely reflect the heart of our church.

The individual teams, Capital, Outreach, Relationship and Education, will also meet independently, on a monthly basis, or whichever is determined to be appropriate by the team, to carry out the planned ministries.

Once or twice a year, everyone involved in all the CORE teams meets to review events and activities, brainstorm future ideas, and form an overview calendar. Working and planning together encourages a sense of common purpose, support, and encouragement amongst all the teams.

You are invited, whether you have been involved in ministry at Hoadley in the past or are considering it for the first time, to look over these teams and prayerfully consider if God might be leading you to take part in what is going on at HEMC.

CORE Communication Team

The CORE Communication Team consists of individuals from each of those four teams. These individuals are ratified by the Board and meet monthly with the pastor.
The focus of this team is to, as a unified group, ensure that all activities that are planned have gone through the filter of our vision, mission and values and to communicate.

Firstly, they communicate with the pastor through their monthly meetings, so that the pastor clearly understands and communicates with the board how the ministries are going, where help and guidance is needed, and identifying where gaps might be. Secondly, they inform the church body, so that the congregation clearly understands what is going on and how they can get involved and support the ongoing ministries.

Capital

How can our building and property be best used to facilitate ministry?
This team’s focus is on the practical changes and upgrades and maintenance to the building and property needed for new and ongoing ministries. They will be working closely with the other teams to understand and support the ministries as they evolve. This is the team for you if you like to do projects!

Outreach

How do we engage with our community and invite them to become part of our church in whatever ways they want to and are comfortable with at this time?
This team’s focus is getting into the community. There have been some creative and exciting suggestions put forward such as hosting coffee times for seniors and young moms at the church, offering grief support or parenting groups or addressing food insecurity in our community. If these ideas are interesting or exciting to you, or if you have other suggestions, consider joining this team.

Relationship

How do we encourage a sense of care and belonging within our church and draw new people into this sense of belonging when they start to come to our church?
The value of relationship came through very strong from the congregation’s feedback. If you are excited about mentoring, connecting and encouraging quality relationships this may be the team which fits you!

Worship Team

How do we encourage participation in the worship and praise of God?
As a group of individuals using their unique talents in music, voice & instruments, audio & visual equipment, they lead the congregation in worship through song, special music, scripture and prayer. There are several worship teams that have their own style and you are welcome to join with these groups if this is what makes you excited to serve here at HEMC.
