The Parable of the Workers - Matthew 20
• John Peacock
This week, guest speaker John Peacock shared a powerful message from Matthew 20, focusing on the parable of the laborers in the vineyard. He reminded us that God’s kingdom doesn’t operate according to human ideas of fairness, but according to His perfect wisdom and grace. Just like the landowner who paid each worker the same wage—regardless of how long they worked—God extends mercy and provision as He sees fit, not as we expect. This message ties beautifully into Pastor Williams’ series on Job, where we’ve been learning that even in the midst of suffering and confusion, God’s ways are higher than ours. While life may not always feel fair, both Job and the laborers remind us to trust that God is always just, always good, and always working for our eternal benefit. Trust isn’t about understanding every detail—it’s about resting in the character of the One who does.
