Study Groups
Topical Studies with Pastor William
Starting in September 2025, William will host topical study groups at Hoadley Church. These groups will be "seminar style", meaning you will have a bit of reading to do before each session, and then we will come together for a bit of teaching from William, but mostly discussion.
The sessions will be held on Wednesdays from 7-8:30 pm. There will also be some Saturday sessions from 10am-2:30pm. Readings will be emailed to you at least a week before the first session.

Emotional Intelligence and Personalities - September 10, 17, October 15, 22
One of the greatest skills a person can learn is emotional intelligence. In this study, we will learn what it is and how to increase it for yourself. Then we will connect emotional intelligence to various ways of understanding personality types and styles. If you haven't yet done a DiSC assessment, or want a refresher, you'll want to come for the October sessions.
Christianity and Politics - October 18 (10:00 am - 2:30 pm)
We will explore a bit of the history of the relationship between Christianity and politics and how to think wisely and helpfully about how to engage in politics today. This material is based on a course I took from Regent College in Summer 2025. Bring a bag lunch.
Leadership Topics - November 12, 19, 26
Topics such as managing conflict and change, the nature of power and influence, and leading yourself. The Leadership topic series will be an ongoing study in which you can attend the ones you are most interested in.
Calling and the Will of God - (TBD) Register to express interest
In this study, we will spend one session on what it means to be called by God, one session on discerning the will of God, and one session on putting them together to establish some next steps in your life.
Evangelism and Discipleship - (TBD) Register to express interest
In this study, we will spend one session covering the topic of evangelism, one session on the topic of discipleship, and one session on putting them together in a cohesive workflow so you know how to engage with friends and neighbours who do not yet know Jesus.
